At the 'Uma Mekk' fair you can enjoy and buy food and handicrafts from local producers and artisans, all connected to the theme of food. There are quizzes for visitors and you can take part in the awarding of the best foods. The littlest members of the family can attend a fun workshop. The fair is open to visitors from 09:00 to 14:00.

New Wine Day on the Onion Route

The Alatskivi Manor Winery celebrates the New Wine Day, a celebrated holiday in the wine world, for tasting this summer’s wines. At midnight on the third Thursday of November each year, new wine bottles are opened and everyone can taste the wines from the summer harvest for the first time. Different wines, including honey wine, summer berry sparkling wine, bullace wine, grape wine, and chokeberry wine can be tasted in the wine cellar which will be open for exactly one hour. Those who cannot participate are welcome to visit on Saturday, when new wines can be bought home.

Serving size is 50 ml and each brewery will bring 8 world class beers to this 2-day event. So, over the course of these two 6-hour sessions, the guests have a choice of close to 400 extraordinary beers. Festival ticket includes all beer inside the venue – no tokens, no cash (except for food), no hassle!

Italian wine party

On Saturday, a wine contest will be held in Haapsalu’s Old Town, which will reveal the favorite Italian red wine, white wine, and Prosecco of Haapsalu.

Kallaste Fish & Onion Fair has become a traditional late summer event in Kallaste. Held on the last weekend in August every year, it attracts people not only from the local area but also from other parts of Estonia, and even abroad. A range of items are sold at the fair but the crowning gem among them is the famous onion grown on the fields by the Lake Peipus. In addition the fair itself there is a diverse cultural programme including handicraft workshops, traditional cooking, boat rides on Lake Peipus, children's shows and more. The festivities culminate in an evening dance and fireworks.
